Clarity: VS
Dimensions: 7.35x 7.10x 5.54mm
Design: Portuguese round
Origin: Ceylon, Sri Lanka

Notes: This is an incredible untreated royal blue sapphire. The tone is a nice medium to medium dark blue and the stone's color is vivid. The brilliance of this stone is incredible and turned out very well. A few tiny inclusions that are undetectable by the unaided eye. Includes the original certification showing this stone was not treated. This stone was a recut from an already cut and certified gemstone.

For your consideration, a lot of 5 undyed precious red coral cabochon stones. 4 ovals and a small round. These were old stock from a retiring jeweler who I also bought a shimmery strawberry quartz from that I will list soon. These would be great as a earring or pendant project. They are the classic coral red with a hint of orange in them. A beautiful set of genuine not "bamboo" coral, but the real deal!

Something I have discovered about myself and gemstones. I'm not a round cut type of person. Ovals, cushions, emeralds, asschers, and radiants are what I love. However this is a beautiful .73 red spinel I picked up a few years ago because I fell in love with the red color. This one came from Namya and has never been set in jewelry (though it should be!)

A very bright and clean 1.17 oval cut orange spessartite garnet. This one does have the famous fanta color though in some lighting it shifts more into a pumpkin orange territory. It's photographing darker then it looks in person but it's a very bright and gorgeous shade of orange.

Another Uli stone I got several years ago. It's not a mint green, I would say more of a lime/chartreuse green. This one is oval cut and weights .52 ct. I love looking at this one, and it's been more of a collection stone then project stone since it doesn't want play nice with my skin tone!

Another one of the candy themed stalled project gemstones. The green is a bit deeper, not dark, just deeper. I guess you could call it a nyquil or the creme de menthe bottle green. Very clean for a cabochon cut stone, which is what I wanted since my idea of candy isn't one that has all kinds of black spots in it. I've seen a number of pink/green projects and love the color combination (reminds me of the neon color combos of the 80's) so this would work for a small set of stackable rings!

The first pic is the stone tilted. I love emerald/step cut stones that are set with a tilt. This is a 3.54 carat amethyst I bought from Dana Reynolds several years ago. The purple is lighter but I wouldn't call it a "ROSE DE FRANCE", I guess that is a new marketing term for a very light amethyst? It's a great cut and big stone 9mm. The rough came on this one came from Bolivia.

I blame Pricescope for my addiction to tsavorite garnets (or taco rite garnets as my IPhone auto correct wants to call them). I don't know if I have ever seen a more beautiful green in a gemstone then when I first discovered these stones. This one is a gorgeous grass green "classic green" tsavorite that is oval cut and weighs 1.04 carats. This was the first tsav I ever purchased and am still in lust with the green that theses stones put out.

For your consideration, a 1.94 oval cut pinkish, purplish red rubellite tourmaline. This one I got from Tan, and was going to be part of a candy themed jewelry project that never got off the ground. It's hard to pin down one color on this one but would say it is mostly purplish red. It's a very clean stone and is not opaque or cloudy as a lot of cabochon cut gems are.

How would you like something with the word sugar in it that has no calories, carbs, or fat in it? Well you found it! A supercool sugarloaf cut Amethyst from Art Cut Gems I picked up a few years back. Like a lot of you, I own the Elizabeth Taylor "My Love Affair With Jewelry" book and saw her massive sapphire sugarloaf cut sapphire ring and became obsessed with the cut and the look. Well I don't have ET kind of money but I did find a well cut sugarloaf cabochon stone! This amethyst is a medium purple and very clean for a cabochon cut stone, and frankly I saw the sugarloaf rings they sell at the blue box store and this one is much nicer!

For your consideration a very nice lot of 60 2.5 mm Montana Sapphires for melee. There are blues, greens, yellows and pinks and this lot. Some are very crisp and others are more milky/opaque but all would make a very cool project or just have a little extra stones around just in case something comes loose and pops out.

Oh baby! This one is a beaut! It's a 4.35 carat Uli Zeisberg liquid flower cut amethyst. I would describe the tone as light to medium, which works well because you want to be able to see the pattern. This is my favorite Uli cut and it's like a gemstone cut to look like a lava lamp.I was going to have it set at a ninety degree angle because I always found myself turning the gembox all different ways!

This is a very pretty baguette cut oligoclase. It measures 1.14 carat and measures 9.28x4.13x3.38mm
It has a very light green tint to it and was uncooperative in photographing.

This is an oval Andradite Garnet it's very sparkly, and a unique brownish/yellow color. There is a tiny window that I think will close when set.

Another wild color change Spinel! This one is a earth toned brownish purple to a fall brownish red color change. It's big 3.11 and a emerald cut. This one I believe I got in the fall as it did indeed remind me of the color change in the leaves. It's another one of those stones you can play with indoors or outside to see what color it will be next! A cool stone with a nice clarity.

Another spinel that was maddening to photograph. In person the color looks charcoal gray flashes of purple and even black, but in pics the purple stands out more. Regardless, this is a VVS clarity lovely emerald cut spinel. It's 2.59 carats so it will be noticed that's for sure though it falls short about 33 carats of Mariah Carey's massive rock!

I love Dan Stair's stones and own a number of them. His barions and emerald/asscher cuts are second to none and this one is no exception. This is a emerald cut color change sapphire that goes from blue-green to purple and is eye clean. The blue/green shows up during the daytime and the purple comes alive in incandescent light. It's a beautiful stone and fun to play with!

Well it's not the Angelina Jolie/Lorraine Schwartz quality we saw on the red carpet several years ago but it's a BIG EMERALD. I got this one from Tan as well and wanted to set into a silver ring that had an organic look to it, (which explains my love for Ehret's listings). It's opaque of course and I would describe the green two toned at the bottom of the stone it's a darker forest green and at the top or dome of the stone the green is noticeable lighter closer to a hunter green color. A cool stone to make a bohemian style ring or pendant or as a big ring to wear to Coachella!

GO USA! I love finding out a stone I bought came from America, which was a big plus when I bought these two oval cut garnets from Uli. Both are from Idaho. The .52 came from the Salmon River and .58 came from the Clearwater River. The Almandine definitely shows a pretty purple hue and more of a merlot color while the rhodolite has a touch of orange in it.
