The overall size of the earrings are just under 1 inch x a little under 7/8 of an inch. They weigh 9.6 grams on my scale. The rose cut pears are large and very nice quality, they are white with a tiny bit of warmth and nice clarity. One is approx 5.2 x 4.2 mm and the other is approx 6 x 4 mm. There are 8 old brilliant cuts in bezels in one earring - chunky and fiery and eye clean, some small imperfections seen under magnification. In one earring there is a beautiful old rose cut in one of the bezels. There are approximately 30 tiny Rose/polki diamonds in the design, some are quite clean and some are imperfect, but all look really nice in the design to the eye. Metals scratch tested, no content stamps. Historically these were diamond dress clips, converted to earrings with posts. The piece remains in its original form other than the posts which were subtly added. The posts could be removed for unpierced ears as there are security clips that were original to the piece. There is a wonderful story behind the earrings. They belonged to a woman who lived in San Francisco in the early 1900s. She was an interesting and very educated woman. She was an early graduate of Stanford University and obtained a degree in psychology, the daughter of business owners in San Francisco.
