1ctw old European cut earrings in leverback setting marked 750 for 18k gold. They look like brand new, beautiful. The diamonds were calculated by diameter and depth to be .48ct each, they are K-M color and one has no inclusions observable under 10x probably a vs2 diamond, the second one has a clear feather under 10x, probably a si1 or si2 diamond, both eye clean, gorgeous, with no fluorescence. I purchased this garnet for $289, a few years back, and set it in a 14K gold head. I put a chain through the head and wore it as a slider pendant. I like the look, very sparkly, with diamond-like rainbow sparkles, but I haven't worn it in a long time. It's 7.4 mm x 4.9 mm (big!), 1.89 carat, from Mali. Mali garnets were a huge hit on Pricescope a few years back, because of their diamond-like refraction. This one has a lot of rainbow diamond-type flashes, because it's a very good cut. It's a light yellowish green, and shifts to more like a fancy yellow diamond in fluorescent light. I think a good bench jeweler can open the prongs, solder the head to a band, and you'd have a fairly simple ring. Last photo is how I used to wear it, just slid onto a chain. It doesn't flip over. I have not had this diamond graded so you can catch a bargain. I find one small clear feather on the pavilion close to the girdle. The diamond is a late oec or transicional with a small culet. This gorgeous fireball has big hand presence and is so flashy and fun. I got this spessartite from minousbijoux on Pricescope years ago. It makes me smile every time I look at it. Most of the time it is a glowy orange-red. It takes on more brown in some lights but is always lively and has red and orange flashes. This is a not a precision cut stone and minousbijoux did not have any stats on it when I got it other than natural spessartite garnet. I had ID Jewelry set it into an antique yellow gold and diamond mounting. I do not know much about the setting. I got it from an estate sale in Maine. It has 6 melee diamonds on each side (12 total). The diamonds are white and sparkly and the setting was sold to me as from the late 1800s/early 1900s. ID Jewelry put on a new head, made tiny claw prongs, and polished the setting. From the side, the prongs look slightly uneven to accommodate the non-precision cut of the stone, but I do not find it noticeable when wearing. I love this ring, but it turns out my hands really are as pink-toned as they look in the photos and I realized that I pretty much exclusively wear blue/pink/purple/cool tones, and this gorgeous red-orange doesn't really work for my skin tone. My loss is your gain. This is a great statement piece. The spess is set high and looks fabulous. I get wonderful comments every time I wear it.
