A remarkable 18th Century mourning ring commemorating four individuals. The head features an urn and weeping willow design, made from hair, surrounded by an array of faceted garnets. The shank is made up of two braided strands finished in black enamel - one reads: "Mary Roach ob 13 July 1771 AET 38", the other: "Ann Pope ob 18 Sep 1771 AET 34". Inside the shank are two further inscriptions, added later: "Mary Pope ob 27 June 1747 AET 38", and: "Eliz Pope ob 10 Nov 1779 AET 28".
