This ring holds a grey zircon with a lovely and unusual gray hue, not unlike a fancy-colored diamond ... just happily at a fraction of the cost. It is primarily a beautiful pure grey to the eye, though it can turn a darker gray in direct sunlight, or show a green modifier in diffuse sunlight. Zircon is one of the birthstones for December - great for those December babies. The zircon measures 9.4mm x 6.55mm for an estimated weight of 4.82 carats. It has a wonderful old european cut, with a very high crown and a small table: wonderful in candle-light, daylight, or artificial light. :)
The ring itself is an Art Deco piece dating to the 1930s. It has an illusion-head in the fishtail style, making the stone face up beautifully, and is bookended on its sides with bezeled marquise and round diamonds of G, SI1, totalling .28tcw (each marquise is .10 and each round if .04). This listing is for the solitaire only: any additional rings visible in the pictures are not included. The ring is currently a size 5.5 and could easily be sized up or down.
As always, please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions, or would like additional pictures.
