The silver is unmarked but tested as sterling by my jeweler. The aquamarine itself is a nice medium blue with plenty of sparkle, and is eye-clean. It is a really nice stone and has drawn compliments every time I have worn it. The gallery and head have lots of detailing and are very intricate. The head sits up high. The overall effect is of a stately antique. There is some faint scratching but overall the ring is in very good to excellent condition. The ring is size 7.5 and the band is thin. Design This is a truly handmade ladies cocktail ring in a lovely flower style # 424 of our online design selection catalog. This floral ring showcases the gems in a balanced array of solid individual baskets with open backs and prongs for the Marquise shaped gemstone petals. The center is a round gem six prong mounted in an elevated position on a solid basket with a closed back. The band is a separate circle, a stylish dual taper attached to the ornate head. Gemstones The center gem is a Yellow Sapphire from Madagascar with VS eye clean clarity, an expertly faceted sparkling 3.5 mm round. This fine gem has had heat treatment with Beryllium. Sapphire is the birthstone of September. It is a 9 on Moh’s hardness scale and is known to be tough and suitable for everyday wear in most designs. 2.44 carat Vanadium Chrysoberyl from Tunduru, Tanzania. Stone is flanked by diamond baguettes, two per side, in a platinum setting. Diamonds are 0.4 (CTTW) but haven’t information on their other aspects. The pear-shaped stone is well cut and exhibits mint green/bluish color. The piece, as a whole, is in excellent condition as it was rarely worn. The stone was purchased approximately 21 years ago via David at Multicolour Gems LTD and the setting was provided by the Tradeshop of Portland, Oregon. Vanadium Chrysoberyl is an exceptionally rare gemstone. This piece is for one that desires something distinctive from mainstream.
