Gorgeously large and vivid mint green rectangular Afghan tourmaline, 5.74 cts. Cut by Jerry Newman. Stone measures 11.5mm x 9mm and is set in a simple 18kt white gold setting with small diamonds tucked in on either side.
This stone is quite a special one. It’s vividness is amazing and the cut is quite cool - the top is a double corner rectangle and the underside more like a standard radiant cut. When I purchased it from Jerry he noted that it was one of his favorites and he was sorry to see it go.
I’m selling it only because it’s simply too big for me as a ring. I’ve considered resetting it in a pendant, but I don’t really wear necklaces much. I’ve also considered having it recut to something smaller, and I may still do that. But it’s such a special stone so I thought I would see if another colored stone lover would want it in its big and bold original size.
Most pics are mine, although the close-up in the box is taken from Jerry’s original listing. Currently I am not open to separating the stone from its setting, but it can be easily removed if another setting was desired.
