Here is a rare, in-demand Garnet from a recent discovery in Mozambique. It has a fine slightly reddish-purple color, these are known in the trade as "Mozambique Purple Garnets".

This piece is priced very, very low especially considering the size and color. It has some inclusions, but it faces nicely, appearing silky or velvety. I had the pavilion recut by Daniel Stair, so it has no windowing. It does shift to a magenta in incandescent as does all of this material. If you've wanted one in a nice size at a super affordable price, here you go!! Note: this is a medium-dark stone, not over dark, to me it is not as dark as the pics.
