This is a custom made 14K WG wedding set featuring a 1.15ct round natural diamond center flanked by a pair of diamond baguettes (1.0 TCW), and a matching wedding ring with 8 natural diamonds prong set in a milgrain finished band. The center diamond is 1.15 carats, H-I color, I-1 clarity. There are a few inclusions, but they are white feather-type inclusions. No carbon visualized with a loupe. Excellent cut, amazing sparkle. The baguettes are H-I color, VS1 clarity, 0.5 ct each. The e-ring is a size 6, and the wedding band is a roomy 5.5. Both are sizeable. The ring is 14k yellow gold and has a total weight of 4.18 carats. It has a wide tapered band raised with pave diamonds and a raised center diamond. The outside bands are soldered to the center band and each has five vertical diamonds. The center band is 11.8 mm wide in the center and tapers to 4.8 mm wide in the back. The center diamond is set in a six prong white gold head. There are twelve diamonds pave set in the center band; six of them are round brilliant-cut and six are round single-cut diamonds. It is the glow from the stone that makes the definition of the cut & facets looked blurred. This stone is not sleepy either, it just glows, & is one of the hardest stones I ever tried to photograph. The color is truly hard to capture, let alone the brilliance. I tried my best to capture the color, brilliance, & glow, but honestly, just like a top color Emerald, this stone just needs to be seen in person to truly appreciate its beautiful color & glow! The Spinel has a high crown & many facets turning it into a dispersive fireball. It has a desirable medium light tone. No window & very little extinction. Very clean. The proportions are not perfect, but the stone faces up great & full of life. With material this fine, it is all about the color, glow, & this Spinel delivers & then some. But again, it just must be seen in person to really appreciate. The video taken under LED & fluorescent light does show some of the neon in this stone but could not quite capture the red component, though the stone does appear more orange under LED & fluorescent light. Still, it is hotter reddish orange. The video in natural sunlight shows more of the red in this stone, but still, it is redder & neon in person. It is electric! It was taken on December 20, on an Iowa afternoon. Here in Iowa, the sun only raises to around 10:00 at its highest in mid-December.
