Truly an amazing “Flame Spinel!” This stone just glows so much that it makes the video & pictures look somewhat blurry, they’re not, it is that electric glow. It is the glow from the stone that makes the definition of the cut & facets looked blurred. This stone is not sleepy either, it just glows, & is one of the hardest stones I ever tried to photograph. The color is truly hard to capture, let alone the brilliance. I tried my best to capture the color, brilliance, & glow, but honestly, just like a top color Emerald, this stone just needs to be seen in person to truly appreciate its beautiful color & glow! The Spinel has a high crown & many facets turning it into a dispersive fireball. It has a desirable medium light tone. No window & very little extinction. Very clean. The proportions are not perfect, but the stone faces up great & full of life. With material this fine, it is all about the color, glow, & this Spinel delivers & then some. But again, it just must be seen in person to really appreciate. The video taken under LED & fluorescent light does show some of the neon in this stone but could not quite capture the red component, though the stone does appear more orange under LED & fluorescent light. Still, it is hotter reddish orange. The video in natural sunlight shows more of the red in this stone, but still, it is redder & neon in person. It is electric! It was taken on December 20, on an Iowa afternoon. Here in Iowa, the sun only raises to around 10:00 at its highest in mid-December.
