They are bi-metal, both platinum and 18k gold. Each of the large diamonds are 0.50cts (5.3mm x 3mm) and the smaller diamonds are old mine cuts that are about 0.6cts with a total carat weight of about 1.12. The large diamonds are old European cuts, estimated Si, H-I color, which is very white for antique diamonds. The gold is solid 18k yellow gold and the diamonds are set in platinum. The color is vivid pinkish red which glows immensely in natural light, especially sunlight. Rubies are known as the king of gems, and it is easy to see why. The most expensive and coveted orgin of rubies is Burma (Myanmar). Additionally, most rubies are treated with standard heat treatment to improve the color. The color of this stone is totally natural; it has not been treated in any kind of way. The fact that this stone is both Burmese and not heat treated, combined with the vivid color, makes this stone very rare.
