This is a custom made, one of a kind color-change alexandrite and diamond ring. It has a 5mm princess cut lab-grown alexandrite in a semi-bezel setting. It is complimented with 6 2mm gypsy-set full cut round diamonds. This ring is made of solid 14 karat yellow gold- it isn't hollow on the underside like many stamped pieces- so it has a wonderful weight to it. The center stone stands 5mm off the finger and the shank tapers to 2.5mm. Gorgeous! The alexandrite exhibits complete color change from bright purple in incandescent light to blue green in daylight. It also fluoresces blood red in a black light. This ring has signs of light wear that your jeweler can easily buff out. The stone faceting is crisp and shows no signs of abrasion. Purchased this from LT a few months ago but sadly orange does not look good on me -- plus I have a new project to fund. 7.5mm 1.85ct Old Nigerian material Lloyd Forrester eye clean, but slightly silky looking, which is typical for orange garnets Pictures do not do this stone justice at all. This stone has very little brown or yellow modifier and is amazingly orange. The picture on the Facebook page and the picture in the low light are the most accurate as far as color goes - my camera tends to want to turn the bright orange body color into yellow. This stone looks amazing in full sunlight and in shade. It also glows in low light conditions, as can be seen in one of the pictures. Please feel free to ask questions. Price includes shipping.
