I've just had this gorgeous late 1930's Art Deco ring independantly appraised by my most conservative GIA gemologist appraiser.....replacement value is $9,375.00.
It's a classically elegant piece with a nice sized and especially clean old cut center stone...it will be accompanied by it's appraisal to it's new home.
Here are the important details:
----
1.25 ct center diamond, transitional cut with medium culet (though it looks more like a European to transitional cut to me - super fiery and bright)
VVS2 clarity
K color
Good cut, polish and symmetry
No fluorescence
---
4 single cut side stones (2 - 2.00 mm and 2 - 2.40 mm), total carat weight .16 carats
VS1 to VS2 clarity
G-H color
Good cut
(with high magnification I see one tiny chip under one prong of one diamond)
----
Total carat weight of 1.41 carats
----
Size 7.5, and sizeable, good condition with one small old repair on the underside of the bridge, seen with magnification. Still marked 14K inside the knife edged band, and weighing a total of 3.05 grams. Beautiful piece!
