This unique piece is very special, even for antique jewelry.
It was made in England during the Georgian period (1714-1837), likely around 1770-1780. Authentic Georgian diamond jewelry is very rare, even when compared to Victorian jewelry. The largest reason for this is that during the Victorian period, the industrial revolution was in full swing, and so was standardization and mass production. However, during the Georgian era, every piece was handmade.
The ring itself has a face in the shape of a ‘bow’ and all of the stones are table cut diamonds. The ‘bow’ measures 16mm × 9.7mm. Table cut diamonds is one of the oldest cuts of diamonds, used primarily during the 17th century. The diamonds are set in silver which was standard during this time as white gold and platinum was not used/invented during this period. The gold is 18k.
Wear is consistant with its old age; all of the stones are original and the setting is original. The weight is 4.4 grams and the ring size is 6.5 U.S. It can be resized. Ships from Socal. Direct contact is cdvii@vucetadiamonds.com. For payments, I use Paypal invoices.
