Description

2.20ct Peter Torraca Untreated Tanzanian Purple Spinel in Semi-Custom Ivy & Rose Diamond Filigree Ring — $2,400 (reasonable offers considered)

A special precision-cut colored-stone ring that I commissioned and have decided to sell because I only wear my engagement ring/wedding ring and I want countertops for my kitchen (my new stone obsession:-).

The center stone is a 2.20 ct natural, untreated Tanzanian purple spinel, precision cut by Peter Torraca in his Classic Square Step cut.

Center stone
• 2.20 ct natural spinel
• Tanzania
• Untreated
• 7.18 × 7.17 × 4.93 mm
• Classic Square Step
• Clarity: Inc1
• Peter Torraca inventory #SpinPl1054

The spinel is a lively violet that changes beautifully with the lighting, ranging from grape purple to pinkish-purple. Peter's precision step cutting gives it crisp geometry and wonderful visible steps.

I purchased the loose spinel directly from Peter Torraca in 2015. In 2018, I worked with Ivy & Rose on a semi-custom antique-inspired white-gold setting specifically for this stone.

The custom setting features delicate engraving, filigree and milgrain detailing with a diamond halo. I upgraded the diamonds when the ring was commissioned; the halo uses approximately 1-point / 1.3 mm diamond melee. The detailed vintage-inspired mounting contrasts beautifully with the very clean geometry of Peter's square step cut.

It is a stunning ring!

The ring is in excellent condition.
