Antique Edwardian Circular Diamond Set Openwork Pendant, circa 1910
A breathtaking example of early 20th century craftsmanship, this Edwardian diamond-set brooch has been thoughtfully converted into an elegant pendant through the removal of the original pin and the addition of a refined swivel clasp. The beautifully executed platinum mount features an airy openwork garland design, embodying the lightness and femininity so prized during the Edwardian era.
Set throughout with 1.95 ctw is a dazzling combination of Old European Cut, single cut, and rose cut diamonds, the pendant is richly detailed with delicate milgrain work, showcasing the extraordinary hand craftsmanship of the period. Romantic, intricate, and endlessly wearable, this exceptional piece is truly a work of art.
The pendant is offered ready to wear with the pictured antique lorgnette chain. Should you prefer to use your own chain, please contact us for pricing for the pendant alone.
The antique chain is marked 14k white gold on the spring clasp and weighs 3.71 grams. Designed with elongated diamond-shaped stations connected by fine cable links, the chain culminates in a graceful triangular junction with a lower extension drop, beautifully complementing the pendant’s delicate openwork design. The wearable necklace length is approximately 26 inches with an additional 4 inch drop, for a total chain length of 30 inches, or approximately 33 inches including the pendant. The pendant measures 1 1/2 inches in diameter.

Swat emerald is rare, valuable, and highly sought after due to its limited geographic origin in Pakistan’s Swat Valley, where deposits are difficult to access and mining is often small-scale. Political instability and challenging terrain have historically restricted consistent production, keeping supply low. High-quality stones are especially scarce, as much of the material extracted does not meet gem-grade standards. Their natural formation, combined with relatively minimal treatment compared to some other emerald sources, increases their appeal to collectors and buyers seeking authenticity. Swat emeralds also carry historical significance, with mining in the region dating back centuries, adding to their prestige. This combination of scarcity, limited output, historical importance, and strong demand in the global gemstone market drives their value and desirability.

Montana sapphire is rare and valuable due to its limited geographic origin and controlled supply. Found only in a few regions of Montana, these gemstones are produced through relatively small-scale mining operations, which restricts the number of high-quality stones entering the market. Their natural formation and the lower prevalence of enhancement treatments increase their desirability among collectors and buyers seeking authenticity. Montana sapphires also offer a transparent and traceable supply chain, as they are mined under strict environmental and labor regulations in the United States. This ethical sourcing adds to their appeal in a market increasingly focused on responsible practices. Combined with their durability and the growing demand for unique, origin-specific gemstones, these factors make Montana sapphires especially sought after and valuable.
