Two really nice hessonite garnets. Very clean for hessonite, no treacle effect when seen with the unaided eye and both are free of the blackish extinction which garnets often show.

No inclusions visible to the eye either.

The details are as follows:

1) Hessonite 7.29 ct., 12.58 - 12.40 x 6.51 mm

Eye clean and bright slightly reddish orange. Lights up perfectly. Pavilion is Portuguese cut so it's really brilliant. Doesn't show any eye visible "treacle" (visible in the photos because the macro lens essentially acts like a loupe). Spread is good, looks like 10 ct. face up.

2) Hessonite 11.99 ct., 15.37 x 13.85 x 8.05 mm

Exactly the same as the other above, only the stone is more reddish (but still primarily orange).

They both light up exceptionally well and both are bright, vivid, lively stones. Cherry picked from 80-odd hessonites.
