This is a big and gorgeous Amethyst from the famous locale in Georgia. This is a nice, clean example of type, only showing a bit of zoning at a tilt-NOT in direct view. It would be fabulous set in a piece of jewelry. The color is amazing, a very strongly saturated bluish-grapey purple in daylight and under incandescent it picks up a bit of subtle pinkish flash. This is a glowy stone, due to the very slightly sleepy appearance due to the silk.The cutting and polish is excellent as well, it was a full recut by Dan Stair from a misshapen oval and he did a great job. Untreated too!!
