My new item is my first foray into diamond earrings which is probably something I should have pursued sooner!

They are a pair of antique Dutch Old European Cut earrings in their original settings. This style of setting the French call ‘sleepers’ AKA drop earrings with the iconic ‘French Back’ closers (for pierced ears). The piece with the large stones are free-moving which maximizes the sparkle.

The diamonds are old European cuts, one is 1.14cts, J, Si2 and the other is 1.39ct, K, i1. Both are GIA certified and will come with the diamond dossier and laser inscription. The inclusions are colorless and do not take away from the beauty of these pieces at all; on-ear they show up wonderfully.

There are an additional two smaller diamonds above each of the main larger stones; as a plus, both of the smaller diamonds are full-cut old mine cuts NOT single cut-cut/rose cut chips, which is a pleasant surprise.

The settings are bi-metal, where the backs are 18k gold and the setting is platinum. Because of the platinum, they are dated to the Edwardian era (1901-1910).
