When I look at this ring, the first word that comes to mind is golden. The natural fancy pear-cut diamond glows with a rich warm hue, beautifully complemented by the rosy-yellow gold setting so characteristic of the Victorian era.
When we discovered this Victorian setting, it had lost its original center stone. To honor its history while returning it to wearable beauty, we carefully selected and mounted a GIA-certified natural fancy pear-cut diamond with beautiful antique proportions. This thoughtful restoration allows the ring to once again reflect the grandeur it was always meant to possess, ensuring it can continue to sparkle, be admired, and be cherished for generations to come.
Freshly returned from GIA, the center diamond is securely held by eight prongs and measures an impressive 10.25 x 7.84 x 4.01 mm. As a striking solitaire, it needs no supporting diamonds—the center stone is unquestionably the star of the show, captivating with its remarkable brilliance and champagne glow.
Inside the band are charming engraved inscriptions that tell another chapter of the ring's story. One side bears the word Mizpah. During the Victorian era, "Mizpah" became a beloved symbol of love, friendship, and remembrance. It was commonly engraved on rings, brooches, and pendants as a sentimental token, with pendants often fashioned to separate into two interlocking halves, much like friendship pendants that remain popular today.
On the opposite side is a later inscription: Herbert to Ella 12-01-1930. Together, these engravings preserve a touching glimpse into the lives of those who treasured this ring before it begins its next chapter.
We believe every antique jewel has a story to tell. This ring's journey spans its Victorian beginnings, its later sentimental inscriptions, and its careful restoration with a remarkable antique cut diamond. Today, it is once again complete—a beautiful piece of history ready to be worn, admired, and loved for generations to come.
