This is a gorgeous David Klass ring that I love!!!! It is 18k yellow gold. The center diamond is a Transitional diamond with a beautiful facet pattern. It is 2.58cts, but faces up like a 3ct diamond. It is 9.06 x 9.10 x 4.85mm. On the shoulders there are 0.62cts of L-M color, SI clarity OEC natural diamonds. It is a size 7.75. The width of the shank is 3.20mm and the depth is 2.50mm. It is 9.23 grams.I love the heft of this ring.
I purchased the diamond from the lovely Jocelyn from Gilded Lane. I purchased it without a certificate. It was estimated to be QR color and SI1 Clarity. I did have David send it to GIA to have it certified. It came back as S-T Color and I1 Clarity. I'm not going to lie, that stung a bit. However, as I wore the ring, I fell more in love with the diamond than what a piece of paper said. Jocelyn called it a unicorn, and it is!
I am going to post a picture of the setting it was in when I bought it. It shows warmth, I did Not see yellow. Then David did the new setting. There is no cup, but it does have the 18k yellow gold metal halo. It is yellowI I was so surprised! I adore it, and it looks stunning with the much whiter OEC sidetones.
This is what David said to me after he got the cert from GIA. It is great I1 clarity. The inclusions are towards the edges and do not affect the brilliance. It could easily be an SI stone to the eye. He added that the 8 prongs would be more than enough protection for the diamond.
David's professional opinion and how I felt when I looked down at the diamond were more than enough to make me wear this fabulous ring proudly and very happily. I never felt like I overpaid for the diamond. Regardless of the grading. I got a diamond with a beautiful facet pattern, that was large, and I have loved wearing.
GIA certificate is included as is David's appraisal. This is a gorgeous ring, with a beautiful and large diamond at a great price. I hope she will go to someone who love's her as much as I have!
The last picture is one of the ring as I purchased it. I wanted a different setting. I am showing this photo so you can see that there really wasn't any yellow to be seen. The setting most definitely made a difference.
