Old JTV purchase. This is a lovely gem... deep, rich magenta with brilliant flashes of red. More specifically, I would say it has a reddish-pink hue with medium-dark tone and vivid saturation. She is NOT overly dark in any way, shape, or fashion. IMO, the tone is perfect for this material. I love that a radiant cut was applied, as opposed to a typical emerald/step cut. The scissor facets really show off the stone's fire. Surprisingly, the stone is completely eye clean. So rare for true rubellite material! Weight is 1.25ct and dimensions are 8x6mm. Mined in Nigeria.
