The central diamond is GIA certified and inscribed, the ring will be accompanied with the certificate and an appraisal for insurance. The diamond is absolutely beautiful with no clarity issues save for a chip mentioned on the report which is the reason for the SI1 grade. It is invisible to the naked eye. It is located at the edge of the diamond and is 95 percent on the underside of the stone which is why the face of the diamond is so beautiful. If the diamond were to be repolished it would remain above the 1 carat mark and the clarity would improve to a VS. Small chips happen over the lifetime of diamonds so you are receiving a price discount due to this microscopic sign that this antique diamond has history.
