Video taken under LED & fluorescent light. Nicer than video. First picture taken under natural sunlight. Rest of picture taken under LED & fluorescent light. Dark areas on finger shots is where my skin is touching stone. Not extinction.
This nice red Spinel comes from the Badashan province in Afghanistan. The origin of the famous “Balas Rubies” & “The Black Prince’s Ruby,” which is actually a Spinel in England’s crown jewels.
The stone is a bright light tone red, not pink. No brown. Holds its color in all lights. Eye clean. Good cutting, no windw, nice face up. Very nice dispersion. Will fit in a 8 mm x 6 mm mount.
Don’t see many of these on the market. For lovers of red Spinel from obscure origins.
