Hi! Up for sale is a stunning and very rare Art Deco William Drummond Co. Ceylon sapphire ring set in platinum and 18k white gold, fully hallmarked. William Drummond Co. was an Australian jeweler known for making jewelry for royalty, including Queen Elizabeth II's famous yellow and white diamond wattle spray brooch for her royal visit in 1954. She apparently still wears this brooch often.
The sapphire is natural and approximately 4.5mm in diameter; it has stunning blue color, velvety and electric. It is in great condition for its age -- the Etsy seller I purchased it from estimated the 1920s -- and just has one barely-noticeable inclusion/flaw near the table. There are no significant chips or cracks that I could see. It is flanked by three single-cut diamonds on each side with a total weight of .1 carat. The band is beautifully engraved on all sides, and all stamps are accounted for. The ring is a 6.25 and sizable, although I would consult with a skilled jeweler who could account for the "ridge" pattern in the back of the band to ensure it is not interrupted. I *love* this ring and am hoping someone else will, too. It would be great for a Royal Wedding enthusiast! I am asking $300 OBO through PayPal (payment address: donora.ann@gmail.com). Please email me at dhillard@uakron.edu if you do not receive a response within 24 hours. All sales are final.
