So, I have been auditioning emeralds for the role of center stone in a custom ring. I now have my choice whittled down to two, and the problem is I love them both and can’t decide. I can only keep one, and because of my indecisiveness, I figured I’d let Loupe Troop help me decide. Therefore, I am offering both of my final contenders, but will be selling only one. Whichever is sold first will leave me with the emerald I’ll use. :-)

Stone 1 (oval) - When I first saw this oval emerald, my heart stopped. It is the most lustrous, glowing,emerald I’ve ever seen. Tone is a Medium/medium-light bluish-green color. Excellent saturation and *superb* clarity. I imagine it would be hard to find another emerald as gorgeous as this one.

I bought both of these stones from a reputable, decades-in-the-business jeweler who said these both stones came from the same old-stock batch, and that they are not oiled or treated in any way.

Stone 1:

Weight: 2.1 cts
Measurements: 7.8 x 6.2 x 4.2 mm
Shape: Oval
Origin: Colombia - Chivor mine
Treatment: None
Color/tone/saturation: Medium/Medium-light bluish green with strong saturation.
Clarity: AMAZING! A few inclusions, all non-carbon. The stone is pretty much eye clean when held in hand

The second stone, a modified kite/triangle weighs half as much as the Stone 1 but has similar finger coverage. The tone is medium to medium-dark with a greener bluish-green hue and the same amazing luster that causes pure unparalleled emerald glow. Slightly less clarity than Stone 1, but still has amazing clarity for an emerald. Stunning!!

Measurements: 7.7mm x 6mm x 4mm
Shape: Modified kite / triangle
Origin: Colombia - Chivor mine
Treatment: None
Color/tone/saturation: Green with a tinge of blue, medium/medium-dark tone, strong saturation
Clarity: Excellent (for emeralds)
