Description

I am selling TWO spessartite garnets custom faceted by Allyce Kosnar from Kosnar Gem Co. The smaller is $125 and the larger is $250. These are great prices for gorgeous, custom faceted spess, and I'll hang onto them if they don't sell.

The smaller is an awesomely-shaped octagon shaped Mandarin color. Here's Allyce's description and video:

These beautiful Nigerian Spessartines were coming out steadily several years ago, but now seem to be a dwindling treasure. This stone has such a rich, saturated mandarin orange color that is mesmerizing. It glitters and flashes nicely, but the color is the dominant feature and just glows! It has an octagon brilliant cut that frames the material beautifully. This gem is eye catching and certainly should be the center stone of a ring. This stone was faceted by Allyce Kosnar of Kosnar Gem Co, during August 2016. Enjoy!

These beautiful Nigerian Spessartines were coming out steadily several years ago, but now seem to be a dwindling treasure. This stone has such a rich, saturated fiery orange color that is mesmerizing. It glitters and flashes nicely, but the color is the dominant feature and just glows! This stone has been concave cut to produce fine light return and that radiant pattern of flash. Concave cutting is created with cylindrical burs that make concave cuts into the surface of the gem. The table of the stone is still flat faceted to allow for the best light return. This gem is eye catching and certainly should be the center stone of a ring.
