This Chrysoberyl is almost a bi-color. It's very chartreuse in the middle with more golden yellow on the ends. It was precision cut in the US in a fantastic brilliant oval. The cutting is the star here, with plenty of sparkle from chunky oval cutting. This stone is a bit of a bear to photograph. It looks 10% nicer and more saturated than my photos suggest. Stone: Chrysoberyl Weight: 1.3 ct. Dimensions: 8.5x5.5mm Cut: oval brilliant Origin: Sri Lanka Clarity: VVS2; borderline eye clean. There is some silk you can see on close inspection. Treatment: None Color:very green-gold in daylight, more golden indoors. Price: $99 (includes any shipping/Insurance) I'm a private collector, but I'll allow a 3-day inspection of the stone during which you can send it back for a refund (minus shipping and $25 as a running around fee).

It pains me to list this. The color on this thing is such a pure cherry red. It's not brick red, or orange red, it's red red. It flashes this incredible spectral red very well in direct sunlight. It will show a deep red body color in diffuse light. Thanks to the precision cutting, it will even show pure red sparkles around the edges in low indoor light. It was precision cut in the US in a fantastic modified Jeff Graham design with a lower crown to get better light return. I really hate to sell it, but it's just too dark for me. It gets plenty of red flash in intense light, but never lights up evenly all at once. In most lighting the pure red flash cascades down the stone--it's a very dark stone. In lower lighting it blacks out, except for some red sparkle. If you love dark and pure red, this one is for you. Stone: Spinel Weight: 1.86 ct. Dimensions: 8.7x6.3mm Cut: Jeff Graham oval design Origin: South East Asia Clarity: VVS2/S1? It's borderline eye clean. There are a couple of inclusion near the corner of the table that you can see on close inspection. They're harder to spot from arm's length, but you can find them if you're looking for them. I don't think they detract much. Treatment: None Color: very dark, pure red. Price: $250>>$219 (includes any shipping/Insurance) I'm a private collector, but I'll allow a 3-day inspection of the stone during which you can send it back for a refund (minus shipping and $25 as a running around fee).

This stone has an amazing, unique green color. It's a saturated, slightly yellowish green in daylight--think of a more saturated apple-green. It will shift a bit. In diffuse, intense daylight, or some fluorescent light, you'll see a little neon green. It's not neon normally, but you sometimes see some neon in certain lighting conditions. In LED or Incandescent, it shifts to more of a golden yellow. I had planned to recut this stone since it has a window. The pavilion is centered, and the depth should be sufficient for a pavilion recut at 64%, and you'd probably end up with a 2.2-2.3 carat stone. If you wanted to get really crazy, you could probably cut it to a 7.4 mm round, though it would end up a 1.5 carat stone. It has a nicely cut crown and lots of sparkle. So it works as is, but I'll recut it if it doesn't sell. If you want to purchase it contingent upon the assessment of a cutter, we can work that out. I can also recommend inexpensive recutters. Stone: Chrysoberyl Weight: 2.62 ct. Dimensions: 9x7.5x4.8 Cut: oval mixed Origin: Sri Lanka Clarity: Eye Clean. Treatment: None Color: Saturated slightly yellowish-green in daylight, more golden yellow in incandescent. You'll see some neon color in strong overcast light or LED light. I'm a private collector, but I'll allow a 3-day inspection of the stone during which you can send it back for a refund (minus shipping and $25 as a running around fee).

Stone: Chrysoberyl Weight: 2.02 ct. Dimensions: 9.78 x 7.21mm Cut: Radiant Oval/Cushion Origin: Sri Lanka Clarity: Loupe Clean Treatment: None Color: Chartreuse, more yellow in direct light, more green in indirect light, and neon in LED/Fluorescent. Price: $300 (includes any shipping/Insurance) I recommend viewing the pictures on your mobile device for accurate color. All my photos underplay the green a bit. Dan Stair recut this from a much larger stone. The result was that he kept much of the size. At an average LxW of 8.5 mm it faces like a 3 ct stone and will be quite the statement piece. The cutting is awesome. The crown is flatter than ideal, but Dan managed to eek plenty of dispersion from the radiant cut. It has a real art deco look to it and would be captivating in an art deco or vintage style ring. The color is also fabulous. I think of it as lemon-lime--sometimes lemon, sometimes lime, and often both. But it also contains something even more magical. In fluorescent, LED light, or even some weird low daylight, it goes full on nuclear neon. This is a great stone for someone who wants to wear it in office or strong daylight. While still nice in cloudy or incandescent light, it really shows off in fluorescent, LED, and strong daylight. I don't have a great picture of it's neon side, but I'll do my best to get one upon request. Photos are all taken in natural daylight. I'm a private collector, but I'll allow a 3-day inspection of the stone during which you can send it back for a refund (minus shipping and $25 as a running around fee).

This stone has a barion cut which makes it light up all over in any light. Has to be seen to be appreciated. It looks like it's switched on. Video upon request. 2.89 cts 9.5 x 7.5 x 5.5 mm Light/medium yellow with a hint of secondary green. Never shows any brown or ugly modifiers. Looks great in all lighting conditions. Jerry Newman recut the pavilion several years ago with a premium barion pavilion. 3-day inspection period minus $20 running around fee and shipping.

This is a lovely, delicately colored chartreuse Chrysoberyl with a strong secondary blue and yellow in natural daylight. It has none of the brown that sometimes plagues Chryso. It was precision cut in the US in a classic cushion with some neat crown facets. It's a fabulous stone for someone who likes lighter tones, and appreciates the rarity of bluish Chrysoberyl. I went a little nutty with chrysoberyl a few years ago, so I'm trying to downsize. Stone: Chrysoberyl Weight: 1.64 ct. Dimensions: 7.1x6.8mm Cut: Cushion Clarity: Eyeclean Treatment: None Color:bluish-yellowish green in daylight (mint), more yellow indoors Price: $149 (includes any shipping/Insurance) I'm a private seller, but I'll allow a 3-day inspection of the stone during which you can send it back for a refund (minus shipping and $25 as a running around fee).

This is a very pure yellow Chrysoberyl cut in the US. It it the purest yellow I've ever seen in Chrysoberyl, and never shows brown or golden, even in indoor lighting. It has the slightest touch of green outdoors. It will glow in even very low indoor lighting. The clarity of the crystal is magnificent. It was precision cut in the US in a short oval brilliant style. It has great sparkle thanks to the precision cutting. It never closes up in any lighting. However, it definitely performs best in diffuse lighting, while in intense, single-source direct light it gets somewhat more inconsistent light return. It faces like a 2.5 carat stone as well thanks to some clever cutting, so that's a bonus. It's a fabulous stone for someone who likes purer yellows and precision cutting. I could use the money for some other purchases and I'm trying to downsize. If it doesn't sell, I'll probably find an inexpensive ring and give it to someone as a gift, because it's too nice not to be featured in someone's jewelry. Stone: Chrysoberyl Weight: 1.9 ct. Dimensions: 8.4x7.6mm Cut: oval brilliant Origin: Sri Lanka Clarity: Loupe Clean Treatment: None Color:very slightly greenish yellow in daylight, more yellow indoors Price: $265 (includes any shipping/Insurance) I'm a private collector, but I'll allow a 3-day inspection of the stone during which you can send it back for a refund (minus shipping and $25 as a running around fee).
