Really nice stone. Far better than the photos suggest. This one was camera shy. Superb cutting by John Wright. Real "diamond-like" brilliance. Length: 8.6 Width: 7.1 Depth: 5.7 Treatment: None (No Enhancement) Hands-down the finest purple spinel I’ve ever seen. The 1st 4 photos are in varying degrees of indirect lighting. The last photo is not it's typical appearance, but thought it looked cool so included it. It shows the dispersion in sunlight. I was sitting in my car when I took the photo. The videos below are probably the most helpful representations. It’s so clean that I was suspicious about whether or not it was natural. Under a microscope however you can just barely detect the presence of octahedral spinel crystals, a tiny fingerprint, xenomorphic carbonate crystal, a tiny zircon inclusion and a few prisms of fluorapatite which prove it's natural origin - and are all very typical of Sri Lanka Spinel. This is a certified Royal Asscher Cut diamond with the original box, folio and certificate from the Royal Asscher Company. The asking price is very, very low for a genuine RA - about that of a generic Asscher from an online dealer. Sad to sell it but came into some unexpected home expenses and need to liquidate to cover costs. So, it you or someone else is in the market for an Asscher this could be a great opportunity.
