This is a classic and elegant sapphire diamond halo ring. The center stone is a premium gem quality cushion cut natural blue sapphire. Further, it is certified by the ultimate gem authority: Gemological Institute of America (GIA). GIA states its origin is Burma (Myanmar) and has no indication of heating. The sapphire has a highly sought after medium vivid blue color with nice saturation and minor inclusions. Very pleasing to the eye. As many of you know, being a certified unheated sapphire alone puts it in the top 1% of all Sapphires. A blue sapphire coming from the origin of Burma commands a very high premium due to its scarcity and value. The rare Burmese blue sapphires are very highly regarded in the gem trade. In fact, many dealers rate them almost as highly as Kashmir sapphire, and well above Ceylon. The sapphire is surrounded by 0.25 ctw melee prong-set diamonds forming a gorgeous halo design. If you are looking for premium quality sapphire as your engagement ring or sapphire is your birth stone, don't miss out on this heirloom piece! Metal: 18K white gold (marked inside the band). Maker: EJM Ring Size: 7. It can easily be resized by a jeweler. Weight: approx. 3.1 grams. Condition: very fine condition with minor scratches and wear. The sapphire appears to be natively hand cut in its origin and demonstrates a slightly irregular shape than a precision-cut stone. Please refer to all the listing pictures for the general condition.

This gorgeous antique Edwardian platinum filigree-link diamond necklace came from my personal collection. It comes with a professional appraisal of $15000, which was provided by an independent GIA Graduate Gemologist. Here are the specifics: Center diamond: European-cut diamond, measures 7.4mmX7.4mmX4.3mm and weights 1.6 CT (by formula), I-J color, SI2 clarity (completely eye clean). The two side diamonds each measure approx. 3.9mm and weigh 0.3CT (by formula) and are well matched with SI1-2 clarity and I-J color. All three of the main stones are bezel set with a milgrain top and are soldered together and connected to a platinum diamond and filigree-link chain. The chain has a total of ten 8pt European-cut diamonds and six 5pt European-cut diamonds, each bezel set within the filigree chain. The melee diamonds are well matched with H-J color and SI clarity. The necklace has a total diamond carat weight of approx. 3.3 CTW (by formula). *The center diamond very very white and sparkly in real life. In my opinion, the grading by my appraiser is on the harsh side. I also had the stone informally appraised by another certified appraiser and he gave it an H color and SI-1 clarity. Also, different from many old cut diamonds from the same period, this one is extremely well cut. It has beautiful facets and picks up different colors from the environment, forming tons of fire, just like... a fireball:) More importantly, it can easily be turned into a wonderful engagement ring! Length: 16.5" Total Weight: 9.8 grams Metal: platinum (marked at the clasp and tested) Condition: very fine antique condition with surface scratches and wear commensurate with age. The center piece appears to be married to the Edwardian chain at some point but from the same era. Clasp is a later replacement and it is platinum as well. (The condition statement is based on my observation and not part of the appraisal.) More photos and videos are available on request. Payment is via Paypal, money order, cashier check or Bank Wire. Price includes domestic shipping within the US.

This vintage old European cut diamond six-prong platinum engagement ring is the ultimate piece from my personal collection, but I decided it's time to part with it! The center diamond is 1.80 ct, F color, and VS2 clarity. Importantly, it is certified by the most respected gem authority: Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Please go check it out the Report, Number: 1182613923. As you may know, a majority of the old cut diamonds on the market have a J color or lower and have visible inclusions. Sadly this is due to the fact that over time many of the high quality old cut diamonds have been recut to make modern round brilliant diamonds. Thus most high quality old cut diamonds haven't survived. So, an old cut stone in F color and with few inclusions is extremely rare. In fact, high quality stones like that are currently priced at a value higher than their modern round brilliant counterparts! The cutting style of the center stone is technically a transitional cut style, which is a diamond cutting style in between traditional old mine/old European cut and modern round brilliant. It was popular from about the 1920s through the 1940s. This style is characterized by a slightly bigger table, longer and slimmer facets, with lower crown, and a smaller culet compared to old European cut. However, unlike modern round brilliants, the girdles of these stones remained unfaceted/unpolished. GIA generally terms the diamonds in this cutting style as "Circular Brilliant" instead of "Round Brilliant" (which is a term for modern round cut diamonds). In my years of experience in vintage jewelry collecting and observation, the most beautiful and charming old cut diamonds come from this category as they exhibit a gorgeous flowery pattern with wonderful light play in a lot of light environments. This one is no different, and frankly it is absolutely charismatic with literally perfect faceting, ideal proportion, and lively reflecting the different colors from the surrounding environment. In my opinion, this stone is a textbook example of a transitional cut diamond. The center diamond is mounted on a vintage 6-prong platinum setting with two small single cut diamonds on each side. Live videos are available upon request. Circa 1930s. Mounting Metal: platinum (unmarked but tested). Ring Size: 5. It can be resized easily by a jeweler. Total Weight: 5 grams. Condition: very fine vintage condition with signs of wear appropriate for its age. Overall, it is an extremely gorgeous engagement ring with good investment value and speaks for the fine taste of whoever wears it! *Due to the value of this item: It only ships domestically.
