The word "stunning" is overused in the jewelry world, but this one fits the bill. Despite being nearly 100 years old, this diamond ring is still jaw-droppingly beautiful and sparkles like crazy. The center diamond is a natural Old European Cut (J/SI2) with an open culet, small table, and the incredible sparkle that only comes from antique diamonds. It measures approximately 5.75mm for a calculated weight of 0.75ct. This diamond is bezel set in platinum with classic Art Deco milgrain detailing. 10 additional natural diamonds surround the center stone, each measuring approximately 2.25mm and adding an additional 0.40 carats of diamond. Finally, each shoulder is adorned with another 2 diamonds of approximately 2mm, and another 0.12 carats. Total weight for this is 1.27 carats. All diamonds are original to the ring, securely set, and in excellent condition without any chips or damage. The entire cluster measures 12mm in diameter, with shoulders that extend across the entire surface of the finger, throwing light in every direction as it moves in the light. The diamonds - as spectacular as they are are not the end of the story on this ring. The killer profile and hand carved platinum gallery distinguish this ring even further as something truly special. Though the ring is entirely unmarked and therefore impossible to guarantee, it looks very French in my opinion. The impeccable design and quality of this piece are in line with what I've seen of French Art Deco jewelry.
