I received this from an Estate sale in the UK and had to look at the original hallmarks under my microscope. The crown is an indication of antique gold and was used prior to 1854 to indicate 18k or 22k. This is a European size L which translates to a US size 6. WHAT a detailed beauty! The Art Deco ring is studded with full cut diamonds and sapphire accents. The diamonds are VS-SI clarity and GH color. The ring is a size 6.25 and it weighs a total of 4.7g. The ring face is 26 x 16mm. The diamonds range from 2.1 -3.8mm. The total estimated diamond carat weight is 1.0 cttw and there are approximately .20 points total in sapphires [estimated]. Please note* This ring is being sold AS IS ATM and has 1 missing sapphire-if you watch the video look to the left. My bench is on vacation for a month. After a little research, I realized he is so much older than I could ever imagine. And he comes with 2 surprises even I could not fathom and have never seen nor will I ever again I fancy [but never say never, right?]. A silver topped 14k gold unisex ring composed of 3 oval [navette] shaped rose cut diamonds. Now there are two distinct features of this ring that give away its age. The first is the use of silver on the top. This dates to the 1600’s. Rose cut diamonds first appeared in the 1500’s. The second [and most astonishing] are 2 natural diamond crystals on the table of the third stone in this ring. In other words TWO diamonds formed within the third diamond when it was cut. The original cutter left them, and polished the stone. The appraiser could not date the ring, nor could the Jeweler. The best estimate they said was the Georgian era because silver on top of gold was used in the early to mid 1600’s. That means we are looking at a piece of 175+ year old history. Here are the stats on this beauty..I am in awe. Size: 11.25us [can be sized slightly up or down but it is LARGE] .80 cttw approximately Diamond colors are g-h, g, g-h Diamond clarity is I1, I2, I1 Gold and silver: 14k No trademarks on shank The conservative appraisal on this came in at $10k+.
