This necklace features a 22K granulated pendant with an 8mm bezel-set chrysoprase hung from a 15” 14K chain. Only selling because higher-karat gold doesn’t suit my skintone. This pendant combines two of my favorite things: chrysoprase and granulation. Chrysoprase is my absolute favorite gemstone — I have many loose stones and high-grade rough hoarded — and this stone is flawless and beautiful. There’s a small pearl on the bottom. I had considered snipping it off for a more streamlined look, so know that that’s an option. Granulation is an ancient technique popular with the Etruscans in the early common era but lost to time until the 19th century when the technique of affixing tiny spheres in a rigorous and exacting process was revived. 18k wg diamond ring shaped like a flower with diamond pedals. The current 8mm center stone is a light yellow moissanite to give it the impression of a flower. This brooch was one of the first pieces I ever bought on eBay, back when it was fun to shop there. I was told that it was WWII vintage. It was given as a thank you to the person who taught English to a Japanese lady while both were in Hawaii. The metal is not marked but it has a lovely patina and appears to be sterling. There is no glass but one metal rim remains. On the inside, there is a small lead solder as well as a wire holding the star in place. Lead solder has been commonly used to avoid damaging more delicate items such as pearls as it requires lower heat than gold solder. The star wiggles slightly but is secure. Some scratches and wear commensurate with age.
