This extraordinary dress ring features a rare and valuable 3.00-carat natural unheated Ruby in a step-cut cushion shape, mined in Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon). Measuring 7.93 x 6.74 x 5.79 mm, the Ruby boasts remarkable eye-clean clarity and is accompanied by a recent GIA Report (2235338443).
What truly sets this gemstone apart is its lack of heat treatment—a rare distinction in the world of rubies. Approximately 95-97% of rubies on the market undergo heat treatment to enhance their appearance. Finding a large, eye-clean, unheated ruby of this size and quality is an extraordinary rarity, significantly enhancing its value and desirability to collectors.
Encircling the Ruby is a halo of 10 dazzling Old European Cut diamonds, totaling 1.08 carats. These diamonds feature superb G/H color and VS1-VS2 clarity, the antique hand cut diamonds add vintage charm to the piece. Combined with stylistic clues we are able to date the creation of the ring to the late Victorian Era, 1880-1901. The total carat weight of the ring is an impressive 4.08 ctw, making it a true statement of sophistication and luxury.
To ensure the utmost accuracy and credibility, we entrusted its appraisal to the highly respected Joshua Hyman, G.G.
