This is a very cool piece. It is rolled gold using the FIX method (which was done mostly in France). Of all the types of gold fill, rolled gold, gold plated etc that I have seen, FIX looks the most like gold imho. In the pictures on this listing I show a photo of this snake next to a genuine 18k gold one (also for sale btw) so that you can see how alike they are.

This item has a clip on it as well as a way to thread a chain through the tail part (see back) but it is an unusual style so perhaps it is a tie clip or something of the sort rather than a pendant.

I am assuming the ruby is synthetic
