This tanzanite is cut in an opposed bar cut, which has 7 facets running the width of the gem on the top, and 6 opposed facets running the length of the gem on the bottom. When you point this gem toward the light and rock it back and forth, you will see a rippling of the brilliant facets along the length of the stone. This picture was taken in daylight, cool light.
