This is stone was cut in Idar-Oberstein, Germany. I am not always a fan of the fantasy cuts because they can be a bit too much, but something about the unusual way it refracted the light combined with the smoky colour that gives it a very cool, mysterious air. It is cut so that all the facets radiate out from the centre. The tourmaline is a very neutral smoky gray, but I find myself seeing a lot of different colours pull out of it depending on what it is next too. It is a very unusual beauty.
The stone is 2.53ct, 9 x 5.4mm.

Am selling a pair of tanzanite trillion gems as I didn't get round to setting them as my "something blue" for wedding jewelry. Decided to pass them up instead. No additional shipping charges. This is a final sale.
The stones do not come with a certificate because my fiance's long-time friend is a certified gemologist himself and had helped to source for these stones. Hence, I decided to skip the certification to manage costs. I brought these stones to a local jeweller though and she verified their authenticity.
1) Trillion 1
- 4.03 carats
- 10mm x 9.5mm x 7mm
2) Trillion 2
- 4.19 carats
- 10mm x 10mm x 8mm
3) Total weight: 8.22 carats
Photos of the pair are taken, namely,
a. in morning light
b. indoors in shade
c. curtains drawn but with afternoon sunlight directed onto the stones
Thanks for looking!

This is a wee little baguette that really packs a punch. It's in the security plastic from GIA still so not the easiest to photograph. 2.41 x 1.50 x 1.27 mm .04 Natural Fancy Intense Pink tapered baguette with even distribution. Finding comps is difficult due to the scarce nature of these but I believe current retail value is just over $2,000.

1.48 ct Grossular Garnet cut by Gary Braun of finewater Gems. I bought this lovely mint 4 years ago. This color is getting much tougher to find. From the original listing:
My broker in Kenya found me a slightly yellowish-green grossular garnet that I've cut into a classic oval Barion design. The name grossular is derived from the botanical name for the gooseberry, which is similar in color (I know this for a fact - we had them on my parent's farm!). Typical of many grossular garnets from this region, it fluoresces orange under UV light (especially the 405nm wavelength). Eye-clean with lots of sparkle and flash.
1.48 ct, 8.4 x 5.3 x 4.7mm, VS clarity
Pair of oval diamonds
One is .33 G-H VS1 and the other is a .27 G-H I1
Sale is final. Buyer pays shipping.
