Doorbuster price! 9 mm round natural mahenge spinel cab, 4.73 cts Prima/Jaimeen
Ok guys, this is a ridiculous price but I would love to sell it - now asking $199 + $6 shipping (first class insured USPS)
Reduced again, this is a complete steal imo! Originally asking $599. This new ask price is *significantly* less than I paid for it, at what was already trade show pricing over a year ago at JCK 2017. In other words, it’s a really really good price!! I’m only offering it at this price bc I could use the cash.
9 mm ROUND natural Mahenge spinel cabochon from Prima Gems

(Apologies in advance as I find cabs very difficult to photograph, but did my best. Some pics show it with other cabs/stones - the smaller purple faceted stone shown is also a spinel, my intention was to show the color contrast between a purplish spinel vs the pinkish red of this mahenge. The pics with cabs show it next to a 10 mm cab cut by Barry B).
Today I’m offering up this 4.73 carat Mahenge spinel round cabochon - it looks to me to be right about 9 mm round (I'm eyeballing it because they never give me the info on mm size of cabs when I’ve bought from Prima, sorry!). Untreated and natural. Nice pink/red juicy color. Purchased at JCK from Jaimeen at the show in 2017. 4.73 cts!! (Nice size that would be incredibly expensive if not impossible to find in a round faceted mahenge). When I chose this one (and this was over a year ago already) I looked through all of his mahenge cab trays, and this was the largest, cleanest, best colored round that I saw. There were many larger ovals, and some cleaner stones, but imo this was the nicest round available of all the trays I saw. This stone *is* included, but not heavily included, I'd say midway between clean and heavily included. There is a lot of transparency in this one but it is not a "clean" stone. (I did have Yvonne Raley look at it and she said it should be just fine for setting, so I wouldn't expect the inclusions to create an issue there).
As far as saturation goes I’d consider this medium level. It doesn’t ever look gray to me, but it also isn’t as vivid as the most saturated I’ve owned, so I think medium is accurate. I’ve seen that Yvonne set some similar (but smaller) round mahenge cabs and they have come out looking just beautiful; I think this one would as well. In a setting I think it will have a more uniform look and that the inclusions will be less distracting to the eye. This is a great way to own a sizeable, genuine, and *round* mahenge at an affordable price!
Was Asking $495 OBO/now reduced to $395/NOW $299+shipping/now $199!!, shipped in US, first class insured mail, VERY MUCH priced to sell as I got it at trade pricing, not retail, and have discounted it hugely from what I paid over a year ago. I realize it’s not a perfect stone and may seem pricey for a cab, but it’s basically like paraiba now - so pricey and hard to find that it kind of just is what is - expensive stuff.
I ship within the US only (due to insurance issues with int'l shipping). PayPal only please; personal/family/friends PayPal is always appreciated (but never required :) I'm katharath on PS, and although I haven’t been active over there in a little while, I've had many successful transactions here, selling from my personal collection.
