“2.81 ct Congo Amethyst, 8.5mm square cushion brilliant.
This amethyst has a gorgeous medium/dark reddish purple color. It was found as a stream tumbled pebble in eastern Congo in an aeras which was producing very fine amethyst until coltan was discovered. Soon, the amethyst miners were mining coltan in 'partnership' with the solders in the aeras. This gem is short of flawless at 10x having a tiny bubble-like inclusion.”
