Genuine antique Victorian Era (1837-1901) Amethyst and Moonstone Five Stone Band. The hallmarks are crisp and clear to the interior of the band indicating that the ring was Hallmarked in Birmingham England in the year 1866, makers stamp reads C&F, we are not able to find information on the maker. It is in remarkable condition for its age. The central Amethyst is an estimated .35 carat flanked on each side by a .25 carat white moonstone with blue flash adularescence with a .20 Amethyst on each end for a total weight of approximately 1.25 ctw (estimated while mounted). An optical phenomenon, adularescence gives the appearance of a light floating just under the surface of the stone which moves as the stone is moved. Currently sized between 5.75 and 6 - sizable.
