A beautiful antique/vintage solid 22ct gold and garnet ring! The ring is heavy and solid, nearly 5 grams of buttery 22ct rosy yellow gold. The garnet is lovely deep red, between 8 and 9mm approximately. The ring was sold to me as Victorian but I suspect it is newer, possibly more like deco or retro time period but I am not an expert in these things. It is hallmarked 22ct, it came over from England. It is size 5 3/4, almost a 6. In very good condition, minor signs of wear consistent with an older piece. I do not see any major scratches or abraisions to the garnet but I imagine there might be some small ones under magnification or looking very very closely. I had planned to use this setting to re set my old mine diamond but the stone is too deep, the ring sits nice and low on the finger....I think a rose cut diamond or Moissanite would look fantastic in it, but it is lovely as is with the garnet too!
