Ring size 7 1/2.
I paid $1500 for this ring.
Provenance. Queen Victoria. Somebody who owned this ring might have read an article about Queen Victoria or maybe even saw her going by in her carriage and after seeing Queen Victoria's diamonds, looked down at these and said, "so tiny..."
This is a 15kt, 5-stone old mine cut diamond ring totaling 1.30 carats. 4.2 grms gold. Graduated stones. From England, Victorian age. Culets range from medium to large.
Diamonds show wear and tear from the years, on some facets (abrasions/nicks). Doesn't affect sparkliness.
David Atlas rated them VS1 to SI. Maybe the smaller stone is VS but the biggest one is definitely SI2.
These diamonds have some of the neatest inclusions: clear diamond crystals, some dark ones. Band has slight discoloration appears to be resized, slightly thinner. They say Mother Nature cooks in a dirty kitchen; they weren't lying... Look at the way they used to scrape the gold to hold down the diamond. Pictures attached 40X and 80X.
This ring was worn by someone who loved it and did everything with it; it has not been babied. Discounted for that reason. DO NOT BUY this ring if you are a perfectionist and want diamonds in pristine shape. But do consider if you like old stones, with neat inclusions and lots of fire and brilliance.
