Spinel rarely comes in this intense of color when it come to blues & violets. This stone could be mistaken for a Tanzanite, with it’s colorshift. A light medium dark (almost medium) tone, with a intense violet color under LED & fluorescent light, & a violetish blue, under sunlight. Looks good in direct sunlight. Becomes more vivid under LED & fluorescent.
Not often seen round cut, has a moderate window, but the color is so intense, it is like the window is not there, other than the fact that there is not as much sparkle as the crown, which is nice & high., & has a lot of sparkle & dispersion. Will fit in a 9 mm round mount.
Rare Spinel, for those who can appreciate it.
