A Burgundy-colored spinel with a velvety texture (otherwise near eye-clean). Small abrasion on pavilion (not noticable through the crown) which will be protected once mounted.

Shifting between reddish purple (opalescent) and purplish red (velvet).

It fluoresce a burgundy-like red when exposed to UV-light (395nm).

Both yellow and rose gold accentuate its red color.
