Very pretty 4.95ct blue (with a bit of green) indicolite (tourmaline) with partial recut by Lisa Elser. It's a large stone and measures 12.65 x 10.8 and originated in Mozambique per the seller. It has some inclusions as is common in tourmaline, but they are not obvious to the naked eye and do not take away from it's beauty. Please note the photos are enlarged and will make the inclusions more obvious than they look IRL.
It has some glow in some lighting but it is not copper bearing so the price is affordable for a stone this size. Because it's been recut, it does NOT have a big pavilion like most native cut tourmalines so it should be easier to set. I only found one stone online that looks similar from Africagems. They are asking $8,833.00 and it's a smaller stone.
It's hard capture the color in a photo, so I took pictures next to a firey orange spessartite, a medium blue sapphire (Not for sale), a yellow sapphire and an orangey pink zircon to show as contrast. The spessartite, the sapphire and the zircon are for sale in different listings.
Asking $1700 (was $2500) - paypal only. No swaps or layaways. Price includes fees/priority shipping/tracking in the US or Canada only. All sales are final unless item is misrepresented.
